THE MENOPAUSE EXPLAINED

WHAT IS THE MENOPAUSE?

In a nutshell the menopause is best described as the end of the last menstrual period. Generally women experience the menopause in their late 40s or early 50s. And in rare cases in their 60s

IS THERE A MEDICAL OR CLINICAL CURE FOR THE MENOPAUSE?
The simple answer is no. But there may be an answer that says yes. SET has successfully reversed the menopause on several occasions. And these are the only cases we know of in the world. Such is the amazing ability of SET. To reverse the menopause is a miracle in itself. Some would call it even miraculous. You can read the case studies of these patients where we have successfully done just that by clicking on the buttons to your left  'EARLY Menopause Reversed' and 'NORMAL Menopause Reversed'

HOW MANY CATEGORIES OF THE MENOPAUSE ARE THERE?
There are 4 categories of the Menopause which are...
PERI Menopause which affects women in the 20s

HOW MANY WOMEN ARE AFFECTED BY THE MENOPAUSE IN THE UK TODAY?
On conservative estimates there are probably around 5-7 million women who suffer from the Menopause.  This figure is based on women aged 20 and over

WHEN DOES THE MENOPAUSE OCCUR?
In simple terms the menopause occurs when a woman's ovaries no longer respond to the homones that are released by the pituitary gland in the brain. The result is that the ovaries fail to release an egg which occurs once a month. And at the same time the body fails to produce the female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone. It is the fall in the levels of these vital female sex hormones in the bloodstream that gives rise to the symptoms of the menopause

HOW DOES THE ON-SET OF THE MENOPAUSE BEGIN?
Many women experience the symptoms of the menopause and irregular periods for several years right up to the menoapuse itself. In clinical terms this is called 'peri-menopause' and represents the gradual decline in the normal fuction of the ovaries. In fact many women find that their periods are both erractic and shorter

SO WHAT IS THE MENOPAUSE LIKE?
First and foremost most womens' experience of the menopause is different in many ways. Many may not even notice the 'change' taking place in their own bodies; other may notice that their normal period cycles have change but not understand why; and other women may experience dramatic changes in their periods which flags up the onslaught of the menopause
